glasgerinkel
Ik heb in tijden niet zo’n enerverende nacht gehad als vannacht (t.k.n. sarcastische toon) nl.:
ik
hoorde rond half 3 glas gerinkel en een hoge toon. Ik kijken (uit t raam,
ik ben geen held, hè) en nix te zien.
Het zat me toch niet lekker dus heb ik toen maar 112 gebeld. Ze zouden een onderzoek instellen, ik dacht; ohh, is dat wel nodig? Niks om me druk om te maken, zei hij en ik kon gewoon weer verder gaan slapen.
Binnen 3 minuten waren ze er. Ze waren met 4 à 6 man, voor en achter. Er
werd nog gebeld door het bureau om door te vragen wat ik gehoord had.
Hij vroeg
een paar keer waar t vandaan kwam, ik dacht dan; jahuh, van buiten! Maar dat
durfde ik dan weer niet te zeggen, ik vond dat zo lullig klinken.
Ondertussen
liepen ze nog steeds buiten rond, en voelde ik me inmiddels toch wel bezwaard en
schuldig want het leek erop dat ze niets vonden…
En begon ik als een echte vrouw weer aan mezelf te twijfelen. Door mijn telefoontje liepen deze mensen hier midden in de nacht rond.
Heb ik het wel echt gehoord?
Was het
niet de tv (buffy) of iets anders?
Dan was ik weer bang dat ik zelf in de problemen zou komen
omdat ze voor niets waren uitgerukt.
Jahaa, het is allemaal wat als je zo'n bangerik bent als ik. Rationeel gezien weet ik natuurlijk heel goed wat ik gehoord heb en dat ik juist gehandeld heb.
Wat uiteindelijk het resultaat van het onderzoek is geweest weet ik
niet, ik ben blijkbaar toch nog in slaap gevallen. En ik heb nog goed geslapen
ook.
Dat kwam vast door de geruststellende gedachte van dat mooie blauw hier in de straat. En dan nog zo snel ook.

Lady Gaga wil dat niemand het mikpunt wordt van pesterijen. De excentrieke zangeres is daarom van plan om met Barack Obama om de tafel te gaan om pesten te verbieden.
De zelfmoord van de 14-jarige Jamey Rodemeyerdie gepest werd om zijn seksualiteit heeft flinke impact gehad om Gaga. "De afgelopen dagen heb ik gehuild en geschreeuwd. Ik ben zo ontzettend boos. Jamey is dood omdat hij niet meer gepest wilde worden. Pesten moet verboden worden. Het is een misdaad", zo liet ze op Twitter weten.
"Ik ga de president ontmoeten. Ik blijf vechten want het moet stoppen."

Has David Beckham started taking his style lead from Jedward? The footballer appeared to be copying the X Factor twins when he stepped out for last night's LA Galaxy match in California last night.
A bizarre combination of a mohawk and a quiff, the new hairstyle was attracting as much attention as his goal-scoring skills at the game against Houston Dynamo.
And despite helping his team to a 2-0 win in the Major League Soccer match, it was the footballer's hair that was the talk off-pitch.

Take the carrot. Orange as an Oompa Loompa, of course, and always has been. Or not. Because the Afghans of the 7th Century would have been perplexed.
Their version, and the one from which all ours are descended, was a rather regal purple. Even when they reached Europe, via the Moors, some time in the 14th Century, carrots were either purple or pale yellow.
Aptly enough, it was the Dutch who created the orange carrot, which quickly became the norm.

We haven’t seen them crack into a bottle of Bolly since they last appeared on our screens in 2004.
But the dysfunctional and deluded Eddy and Patsy are set to return to our screens with a special episode of Absolutely Fabulous.
Earlier today Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders were seen stepping into the shoes of the tragic middle aged women filming scenes for the Christmas special.

The pair were seen parading up and down Bond Street laden with designer bags from the likes of Louis Vuitton, The Kooples and Lanvin, in the never-ending quest to stay hip and cool.
Joanna, who plays Patsy, a magazine editor, is sporting her trademark beehive hairstyle with a black furry coat and a pair of stone coloured trousers, which she teams with a pair of nude heels and peaked sunglasses.

She's in fashion: The women were seen laden down with designer bags from Lanvin, The Kooples and Louis Vuitton
Meanwhile Jennifer as Eddy had gone bright and bold in a colour blocked pleated dress and a bright red jacket, finished off her look in a white felt hat.
In their quest to keep up with the latest looks Eddy is seen looking glum as she is refused entry to Stella McCartney’s boutique and stands outside the store looking glum.

Eddy even presses right up against the store window desperate to get to the designs inside.
Another scene depicts the girls having lunch with Patsy proudly showing off her McCartney goods making it appear that she gained entry into the luxury boutique.
The show became a hit classic when it first aired in 1992 until 1995. Creator Saunders then revived the show in 2001 and it ran for another three series until 2003.
Mailonline revealed in April that the comedy duo would film three new episodes though the writing genius behind the show, Jennifer Saunders, had yet to come up with a script.
The new shows will be the first new shows for six years.

Ab Fab has also enjoyed several spin off series and a number of television movies documenting the pair’s self-destructive behaviour.
Last year Jennifer fought and won a battle with breast cancer after finding a lump in her breast in autumn 2009.
The lump was caught early and she had it removed, followed by gruelling chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment.
In July Jennifer donned a cap and gown to receive an honorary degree from Edge Hill University.

Mother and baby daughter BOTH diagnosed with cancer

A mother and her baby daughter are both facing a battle against cancer.
Kezia Fitzgerald, 27, of Massachusetts, was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in January eight months after giving birth to her baby Saoirse.
In May, her baby daughter was also diagnosed with cancer and now both together fight to survive.

Mike, Saorisa and Kezia Fitzgerald: Kezia was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and Saorisa with Neuroblastoma in May
Of her own diagnosis, Kezia said: 'it was definitely a shock, of course at first we were scared.'
On the day she posted on her blog: 'New Mom….. New Cancer.'
Undergoing chemotherapy, she was determined to beat it, 'There’s no other options, you can't just crawl into a hole.'
But then - devastatingly - Saoirse, who is now fifteen-months-old, was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a common cancer in infants.
Different outcomes: Kezia's cancer is in remission while little Saorisa continues to battle with medication, chemotherapy and a stem-cell transplant scheduled
Mike Fitzgerald, Saoirse's father said: 'I just couldn’t talk. I just kept crying. We all just sat there, holding each other.'
Now, after three months battling the disease together, Kezia's cancer is in remission but little Saoirse needs surgery to remove tumours.
Playing: Like most toddlers, Saorisa is 'ansty,' 'hyper' and eager to learn
She will also need a stem cell transplant in January.
'She is very hyper and very antsy. She loves learning; she’s not letting it get her down,' her father Mike said.
Kezia also remarked how facing the disease together has made them close: 'it does make it a little bit easier to keep on top of side effects because I know what she feels like.'
Doctors have said the youngster is responding well to the cancer medicine and that the two cancers were not linked or passed on from mother to daughter.
The family live in Danvers, Massachusetts - half-an-hour north of Boston.
With both parents no longer working, the Fitzgerald's have started a fund to pay for medical expenses, available on Twitter @fitzcancerfund.

Hodgkins Lymphoma:
- Kezia suffers from a cancer which typically affects men aged 15-35 or over 55.
- Since many sufferers are young, its is common for them to live 40 years or more after treatment
- Up to 98% of patients survive if they are given a favourable prognosis, whereas only 85% of patients survive of those with worse outlooks
Neuroblastoma
- Saorisa suffers from the most common cancer in infancy
- 650 new cases each year in the US
- Diagnosis is difficult as first symptoms are vague - fatigue, loss of appetite, fever
- Between 20% and 50% of high-risk cases do not respond adequately chemotherapy
- Most survivors have long-term effects from such as hearing loss, growth reduction, thyroid function disorders, learning difficulties, and greater risk of secondary cancers

It seems Shiloh has a rival in the bid to be Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's coolest little kid.
Little Knox, who turns three in two weeks, made a fashion statement of his own in a pair of dark sunglasses while on an outing with his famous mother and twin sister Vivienne in London today.
It comes just days after Shiloh, five, styled out a pair of flashy green shutter shades at Los Angeles airport.
Jolie and her twins were leaving a cinema in Richmond after the entire brood - including Maddox, 9, Pax, 7, Zahara, 6, and Shiloh - enjoyed a private screening of the new Harry Pottter film.

Did Lucian Freud love his art more than his children?
As their father’s frailty became increasingly apparent in the final days of his life, several of Lucian Freud’s children knocked on the door of his Notting Hill home.
For some of them, it can’t have been the easiest of visits.
Freud, who died on Thursday aged 88, had at least 14 children by several different mothers — although a friend once reckoned that the artist may have fathered as many as 40. Three daughters were born in the same year.
Lucian Freud first marriage ended when he embarked on an affair with Lady Caroline Blackwood (right), whom he married in 1953
Two were given the same name — their long-suffering mothers unaware of the full extent of Freud’s infidelity.
Few of them called Freud ‘Father’ or ‘Dad’, and — astonishingly — only a handful were allowed to have his telephone number or address. Some spent a lifetime yearning for a relationship with the reclusive painter so adored by the art world.
In many cases, they found that the easiest way to do this was to pose for his paintings, even if it meant taking off their clothes and sitting naked for hours in front of their father.

Maan
We rijden in de auto en er schijnt een sikkelvormige maan aan de hemel.
"Mam kijk eens naar de maan, hij is bijna weg!" Ik vertel Luc dat dat alleen maar zo lijkt, omdat de rest van de maan in de schaduw is.
"Waarom?" Na een uitgebreide en ingewikkelde uitleg,met sterren en planeten en draaien enzo, vind ie het nog steeds moeilijk te geloven dat iets wat je niet kunt zien er toch is, het zou wel zo kùnnen zijn. Gelukkig want ik was er klaar mee en moet toch echt ook op de weg letten en niet om de haverklap in de lucht moeten kijken.
"Mam hoe blijft de maan dan in de lucht?" Pff...
"Nou die zweeft gewoon in de lucht!" (fingers crossed)
"Ja maar hoe komt het dat ie niet naar beneden valt?" Het is niet mijn sterkste moment, ik wil me op de weg concentreren.
"Uhh... Nou die hangt met een touwtje aan de hemel!"
Tot mijn verbazing wordt dit antwoord klakkeloos aangenomen!!!

The Latest Victim-Blamers: The New York Times?

A news story has been making the rounds about an 11-year-old girl who was gang-raped by a group of males in a small town in Texas. Eighteen young men and boys have been arrested in connection with the case, which would seem like justice is starting to be served, but The New York Times has begun to go ahead and undermine it! An article by James C. McKinley Jr., posted yesterday on the NYT's website, includes such choice quotes like "These boys have to live with this the rest of their lives" from a local nurse who knows several defendants, as well as accounts from neighbors that "…the victim had been visiting various friends there for months. They said she dressed older than her age, wearing makeup and fashions more appropriate to a woman in her 20s."
Really, New York Times? I mean, really? I've come to expect victim-blaming from places like Fox News, but I'm pretty sure even they have the journalistic integrity to not victim-blame AN ELEVEN YEAR OLD. McKinley's story even relays the fact that there is cellphone video evidence of the victim being assaulted and yet still goes on to attempt to undermine her claims by bringing in totally unrelated anecdotes from neighbors--like that the victim would "hang around with teenage boys at a playground." Oh, man, a young girl being at a playground? Must mean she's asking for it!
I'm pissed. If you're pissed too, Change.org has a petition you can sign to let the New York Times know that this kind of "reporting" is totally unacceptable. At the very least, I hope they apologize, but it'd be nice if they canned the "reporter" behind the story too, because I'd like to see James C. McKinley Jr. try to get another job when posts like these show up when people Google him. < dat vind ik weer over-kill.

Marechaussee
Onderweg naar huis vandaag, moesten we tanken. Bij de pomp slaat ie (Lucas) in eens z'n hand voor z'n mond "Mam ik zie een politie!" Blijkbaar is dat nogal spannend als je 4 bent èn een jongetje. "Mam ik zie geen auto, waarom?" Ik zei maar dat ze te voet waren.
Na het tanken moet ik in de auto zijn voor mn portemonnaie, zegt ie "Wel vragen hè, waarom ze te voet zijn." Uhuh...
Toen ik terug naar de auto liep werd er druk naar me gebaard en geroepen (kan ik toch niet horen, hè hè, denk ik nog), dan zie ik dat hij me terugstuurd.
Ik kijk om. En jahoor, daar staan ze nog. Hmm...
Bij de auto aangekomen doe ik maar alsof ik niet begrijp wat hij bedoeld.
"Mam, je moet het vragen!!" (Je moet weten dat ik "niet zo goed ben met mensen".)
OK, gezichtsverlies dreigt. Dus haal ik diep adem en zeg "OK kom je mee?"
Wij dus die shop in.
De ene marechaussee meneer gaat opzij voor ons. Nu moet het maar "Mag ik even storen?"
Hij knikt, dus vraag ik "Mijn zoon wil graag weten waarom jullie te voet zijn?" "Nou," zegt meneer marechaussee heel vriendelijk "we zijn ook niet te voet. Onze bus staat hier om de hoek."
Mijn hiervoor genoemde zoon kijkt alleen maar naar de grond, niet een keer kijkt ie op!
Meneer marechaussee legt uit dat ze als ze lopend zijn niet op tijd zouden komen als er ergens iets gebeurt is.
Nou, ik bedank ze maar en we gaan weer terug naar de auto.
Daar krijgt genoemde zoon ineens zijn vermogen tot menselijke communicatie terug en dirigeert me naar de bus, want die moet wel van dichtbij bekeken worden!
Na het tanken moet ik in de auto zijn voor mn portemonnaie, zegt ie "Wel vragen hè, waarom ze te voet zijn." Uhuh...

Meneer marechaussee legt uit dat ze als ze lopend zijn niet op tijd zouden komen als er ergens iets gebeurt is.
Nou, ik bedank ze maar en we gaan weer terug naar de auto.
Daar krijgt genoemde zoon ineens zijn vermogen tot menselijke communicatie terug en dirigeert me naar de bus, want die moet wel van dichtbij bekeken worden!
